摘  要：当代美国黑人女作家托尼•莫里森的《所罗门之歌》描述了来自黑人中产阶级的子弟奶娃的文化寻根之旅。奶娃出生于一个富裕的中产阶级家庭，由于生活环境的影响，奶娃物质条件优越而精神上极其贫乏空虚，因为他找不到自己的文化认同。本论文从主人公的文化身份迷失原因再到他主动寻求自己的文化的艰难心路历程，来阐述美国多元文化社会中文化认同的重要意义：只有吸收两种文化的优秀部分，美国黑人才能在美国社会中实现自我并茁壮成长。

On African-American Initiation
by Milkman's Pilgrimage in Song of Solomon
Abstract: Song of Solomon, written by American woman writer Toni Morrison, describes the Milkman, a man from the black middle class , whose pilgrimage to search the cultural roots. Milkman was born in a wealthy middle-class family. Due to the living environment, his material conditions are superior while his mentality is extremely poor because he could not find his own cultural identity. This thesis consists of two chapters: loss of cultural identity and African-American initiation in the process of regaining cultural roots. It is also aimed at showing the importance of cultural identity of multicultural society in the United States .African-American can fulfillment and complete initiation in American society which only they have absorbed the good part in two cultures.
